Key - 4) Onew
It’s not that Key and Onew aren’t close at all. In fact, they are. But their personalities don’t exactly draw them together (but just the same, they don’t repel each other either), so it seems on the surface that Onew isn’t exactly Key’s best friend. However, since they don’t clash, and since they don’t get along flawlessly, there’s a sweet, simple buzz between that keeps them as good friends, and perhaps the pair with the least conflict in the group. His brash personality doesn’t faze Onew at all, and because Onew doesn’t feed into it, Key’s attitude dissolves quickly. This isn’t a bad thing, as sometimes Key does need to be wrangled in and calmed down. There is no push and pull in their relationship, there is no tension, it’s an easy fluid motion of two people that get along well. In group settings they might tease each other, but when alone they have a subtle charge that keeps them placated and, surprisingly, on an easy ride of enjoying each other’s presence. Onew’s way of ‘playing’ is much more innocent than the other members’, and Key must like the break from the fast pace of the other members because out of everyone, when Onew teases him, Key might make a fuss but he won’t fight back so violently (reacting verbally to Jonghyun, or phyiscally [hitting] Minho, and physically AND verbally to Taemin).
